  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1 cup Brown Rice Crispies
  • ½ cup Brown Rice Syrup
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips or vegan carob, melted
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup Organic Flax Seeds (use Certified Organic to avoid GMO's)
  • 1/3 cup protein powder (use something mild tasting as you want it to blend in and not overpower – I used Garden of Life RAW Protein
  • 1 cup Quinoa Flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract


  1. In a large bowl mix quinoa flakes, brown rice crisp, protein powder, flax seeds, cinnamon and salt.Place brown rice syrup and almond butter in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until warm and easily stir able
  2. Add in vanilla.Pour the liquid mixture over the dry mixture and mix well with a spoon
  3. You may need to use your hands to get everything well combined.Line a pan with parchment paper and spread mixture out evenly, using lightly moist hands as necessary
  4. Pour melted chocolate over mixture and spread into a very thin layer.Freeze for 10 minutes or until chocolate is set
  5. Cut into squares and store in the refrigerator or freezer
