Ingredients

  • 12-14 apples, peeled, cored, and roughly chopped (I used a variety of apples. Gala, Granny Smith, and Honeycrisp. Find what's best for your taste)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4-6 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a large crock-pot.Cook on high for 4 hours, stirring about every hour to get the liquids moving
  2. Once finished, remove cinnamon sticks
  3. Mash slightly with a wooden spoon for a chunkier applesauce (my preference)
  4. Or run through a food processor or immersion blender for a smooth applesauce
  5. Keeps in jars or containers for a few weeks
  6. Or you could can it if you are familiar with that process
  7. Unfortunately, I'm not.
